Would you like to join the team at 97.3 Soncity FM?

Here’s a step by step guide to get you started:

1. Make sure your membership is up to date. If it’s not, print off a copy of the newsletter and send in the Partnership Form to activate your membership. Make sure you let us know which church you belong to in the Mid West. Your minister is your referee in any application you make.

2. Ask yourself, ‘Am I prepared to make a minumum 12 month commitment to the station?’ We need commitments of this length to enable us to fully plan for the future.

3. Next question, ‘Where would you like to go today?’ There’s lots of different volunteer positions available for station members. We have jobs to suit those who both on air and off air.

Committee Membership: Committee members oversee the running of the station, and are the major link between Soncity FM and the churches within the Christian community we serve. For Soncity FM to function effectively we need members who can give us feedback from their church while also informing thier congregations of the function and purpose of Christian radio in Geraldton.
To enable a balanced representation among the Christian community, there is a maximum quota of three committee members per church on the committee.
Best of all, you don’t need to know anything about running a radio station before you join! Everything you need to know you learn on the job.

Managerial Positions: These positions have oversight of certain tasks within the station, such as playlist management. This is where all the nuts and bolts jobs. Working knowledge of computers is required for most of the positions that keep Soncity FM on air 24/7.

On Air Presenters: Learn the ins and outs of broadcasting, learn how to use the desk, immerse yourself in the best Christian music, and commit yourself to a timeslot for the year.

Odd Jobs: There’s lots of them, just ask what needs to be done.
